Cutting Edge Technology

2016 Social Media At Camden South
As a way of showcasing the quality teaching and learning that takes place at Camden South, we are utilising the social media tools Facebook and Twitter. Some classes are also now experimenting with individual class applications to communicate even more information to you about the learning that is happening in your child’s class.

The school’s official Facebook and Twitter accounts are:
Twitter: @CamdenSouthPS
Facebook: Official site has the school logo as its emblem
Both of these social media tools are designed as another dissemination of information and are not designed for two way communication.

Camden South Public School is breaking new ground with technology in the Macarthur Area.

2015 iPads for Learning

We are one of the first schools to introduce the iPad as a learning tool for enhancing the provision of quality teaching experiences to our students. There are a wide range of educational iPad applications available to support teaching programs which are highly motivating and engaging to students. Teachers are using iPads to support their teaching and learning programs and as a way to provide unique opportunities for students to be exposed to multimodal texts and to practise important skills independently.

There are two sets of iPads which rotate through the school. Each class has a rostered session with the iPads each week. Our teachers enjoy planning and implementing lessons that use this unique tool and students are enthusiastic about using the iPads and eagerly look forward to their rostered sesion each week.

2015 Saving the Environment through Technology

Newsletters are no longer distributed in paper form resulting in a significant cost saving to the school. A reduction in the use of paper also has a significant impact on the carbon footprint of the school. Parents and the community are now able to subscribe to recieve the newsletter by email, download the newsletter from the website or even download an app on their iPhone to keep up to date with happenings at Camden South Public School.
